It’s designed for people with ageing skin that is lacking volume and elasticity, as it significantly improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and helps to increase hydration and firmness across the face. Ultra-pure hyaluronic acid is precisely injected into the area being treated. Unlike wrinkle reducing and dermal filler treatments, Profhilo® stimulates collagen and elastin, attracting water in the deeper layers of the skin. For the face, we use the BAP technique with 5 injection sites on each side of the face to maximise the diffusion of the hyaluronic acid. The result – skin that is firmer, hydrated and glowing!
Increasingly, the neck is becoming a popular area to have Profhilo®, due to its ability to help reduce crepe like skin and sagginess and encourage a firmer appearance.
You may feel a slight pinching or burning sensation when the injections are administered. However, a topical anaesthetic cream can be used to make the treatment virtually painless.
It is recommended to have 2 sessions (one month apart) to achieve the maximum results. However, if the skin problems are severe, the third session could be done 2 months after the second session. In order to maintain the results, one treatment session is advised every 6 months. Results are usually seen 2-3 weeks after the first session.
There are some injection related reactions which may occur after any injection; they typically resolve spontaneously within a few days. These reactions include redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising or tenderness at the injection site.
Profhilo® differs in that it doesn’t give the volume that dermal fillers provide, and it doesn’t change the structure or movement of your face. It is simply about rehydrating the skin and making it appear more radiant.
Dermal fillers are injected to enhance a specific area such as the lips and cheeks. Profhilo® works very differently because it is made of 100% hyaluronic acid, while dermal fillers have other components. Because it is made of a completely natural skin substance, it blends into the skin seamlessly and distributes itself evenly. Due to its intensively high purity and the absence of additives, Profhilo® offers greater safety and therefore reduced side effects.
Profhilo® delivers great results as a treatment on its own or can be used in combination with other treatments.
